New SPACE studios in Soho, Camden and Islington

SPACE has 15 new artists' studios at Dean Street location, artist tenants include Neil Gall, Nils Norman, Annie Kevans and Laura Oldfield Ford.

On the ground floor, at reduced rent, will be an organisation for community benefit 'Portugal Prints' who are part of Westminster Mind. This is the latest building in SPACE's successful partnership with One Housing Group. The first project was Timber Wharf on Kingsland Road in Shoreditch, where 12 studios were fitted out with support from The Shoreditch Trust. One Housing then included the nearby railway arches in the project and 8 large studios were created for multi-occupancy.

In June One Housing launched Arlington a re-vamped hostel for homeless men in Camden, bringing in other social economy partners to create a unique type of project based on Common Ground in Times Square, New York. SPACE has 13 artists' studios here, one occupied at reduced cost in return for programming art activity with residents.

The partnership with One Housing, as well as a recent collaboration with Peabody in Islington, has been very successful in contributing an additional 60 studios to SPACE's portfolio. It has extended SPACE into the London boroughs of Camden, Islington and Westminster.
