LEGACY NOW 6: 2012
The 6th Legacy Now Conference at SPACE on 21st February 2012, came up with proposals in the form of the Legacy Now Manifesto for the new Mayoral Development Corporation (London Legacy Development Corporation)
• Retain & Sustain – “if it ain’t broke….don’t push it out”; develop
what’s there
• Affordability & Value – low cost of space is key to success; value &
celebrate social & economic achievements of arts, businesses &
community in the Olympic fringe
• Small is Beautiful – small organisations do things more quickly and
innovatively
• Engage Communities – community involvement and stake such as a
Development Trust will result in a stronger, successful regeneration
• Cut Bureaucracy – without red tape change can happen quickly and
cost effectively
• Seek MDC Commitment to form a creative industries enterprise
zone & support this Manifesto
